Art

Understanding, appreciation and enjoyment of the visual arts have the power to enrich our lives.

All pupils in the school enjoy a double lesson of Art each week.

Some are able to spend additional time in the art room receiving more specialised tuition. Children are encouraged to work individually as well as in groups.

Visiting artists and gallery trips are a regular feature throughout the year. Usually Art and Design tasks are developed from initial observed drawing and through these activities pupils learn to make informed value judgements and aesthetic and practical decisions.

For the past twenty years Senior pupils have been successful in attaining Art awards to public schools throughout the U.K.
