Ardvreck School Makes a Splash With Refurbished Swimming Pool for Pupils and the Local Community

Ardvreck School, named ‘Best Prep School’ by Tatler 2025, is delighted to announce the refurbishment and renovation of its much-loved on-site swimming pool. The newly upgraded, heated facility provides a safe, welcoming, and ideal environment for younger children to learn how to swim and build water confidence.
This project comes at a particularly important time. According to national statistics, approximately 25-30% of children in Scotland are unable to swim before they leave primary school — a figure Ardvreck is committed to helping improve. Designed with pupils in mind, the refurbished pool is the perfect depth for beginners, ensuring children can develop vital swimming skills in a supportive and comfortable setting.
Designed with younger children in mind, the renovated pool is the perfect height for beginners, ensuring children can develop vital swimming skills in a supportive and comfortable setting. Swimming forms an important part of Ardvreck’s holistic approach to education, with regular lessons helping to build resilience, coordination, and life-saving water safety skills from an early age.

In addition to benefiting pupils, Ardvreck is proud to extend the use of the swimming pool to local community groups and organisations. The pool will be available to book throughout term time, offering valuable opportunities for local clubs, schools, and youth organisations to enjoy this excellent facility.
Headteacher Ali Kinge commented: "We are thrilled to reopen our beautifully refurbished swimming pool. It’s a fantastic resource for our pupils, and we are equally excited to share it with our wider community. Ardvreck is passionate about strengthening connections with local groups, and we hope this facility will enhance our community network and provide a safe, enjoyable space for children to learn, play, and stay active.”
