What is the Ardvreck Spring Weekend?
This annual taster weekend gives children (aged 6–12) the opportunity to experience life at Ardvreck first-hand. It is designed to give children a genuine insight into our unique blend of academic excellence, adventure and outstanding pastoral care, all while having huge amounts of fun.
Children arrive as guests and leave as friends, having sampled boarding life, explored our beautiful campus and taken part in a wide range of activities that reflect everyday life at Ardvreck.
What Will My Child Experience?
Without giving away all the surprises, the weekend will include:
- Sport and team games
- Crafts, construction and creative challenges
- Gymnastics and movement
- Science experiments
- Indoor and outdoor adventures
- Movie night and evening fun
- Shared meals and boarding experiences
Every activity is carefully designed to help children build confidence, try new things, and form friendships — all in a warm, nurturing environment.

A Special Welcome for Military Families
Ardvreck is proud to be a 10% CEA school and has a long tradition of supporting military families.
We understand the unique needs of Armed Forces children, including mobility, transition and the importance of strong pastoral care. Our Spring Weekend offers military families the chance to experience boarding in a supportive environment, meet staff who understand service life and discover how Ardvreck nurtures resilience, independence and belonging.
Many of our pupils come from military backgrounds, and our close-knit community ensures children quickly feel at home.
